The Criminal Justice BS program prepares students to understand the criminal justice system through a combination of coursework in law enforcement, corrections, and the judicial process. It emphasizes critical thinking and practical skills, giving students a solid foundation for careers in policing, legal fields, social services, or further studies. The program also encourages students to explore topics like ethics, crime analysis, and policy development, helping them understand the broader social context of justice.
Students in the program often have opportunities for hands-on learning, such as internships or research projects that connect classroom knowledge to real-world issues. The curriculum is designed to be flexible, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific interests within criminal justice. Throughout their time in the program, students are supported in developing analytical abilities and professional skills necessary for success in a range of criminal justice careers. The program aims to prepare graduates with both knowledge and practical experience to address the challenges of the justice system effectively.
The exciting and relevant coursework in our program includes criminology, investigation, criminal law, evidence and procedure, police-community relations, terrorism, probation, and corrections. Our curriculum is responsive to the marketplace, so that when you graduate your skillset and knowledge will prepare you for a rewarding professional career.
