Introduction

Master of Arts in Pentecostal & Charismatic Studies

Introduction

The Master of Arts in Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies program equips scholars to adequately investigate and document Pentecostal and Charismatic phenomena in Global South. It analyzes characteristics, trends and expressions of Classical Pentecostalism, Neo-classical Pentecostalism and New religious Movements dominant in the Global South to accurately map out their contribution to global Christianity. This course recognizes that the raw data of Christianity today is resident in the Global South and appreciates that Pentecostal and Charismatic movement have extensively contributed to global Christianity.

Core Objectives

At the end of the program the student should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate competence in articulating the contextual nature of Christianity in Global South
  2. Critically examine biblical and theological foundations for Pentecostal and Charismatic faith
  3. Employ theoretical and methodological approaches to Pentecostalism and Charismatic movement
  4. Develop a theology of Pentecostal and Charismatic movement

Entry Requirement

For admission into the program, a candidate must be a holder of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with a minimum GPA of 2.70 or Second class upper division or its equivalent.
