If you are an international student finishing your high school exams and want to study at a UK or European university, but don’t qualify for direct entry, a foundation programme is (usually) the most direct route to university. Our pathway programmes are one-year preparation courses consisting of English language and academic preparation and are designed to bridge an academic gap and improve your English language so that you can achieve entry to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the UK or EU.
You'll be based in our study centre at Birkbeck, University of London. Centrally located, Bloomsbury is a lively, student-centred area, home to a number of universities and other colleges of the University of London.
Everything London has to offer is on the doorstep: we are near the British Museum, the British Library, Chinatown, Soho and Covent Garden, as well as some of the world's best theatres, music venues, shops, bars and restaurants.

Birkbeck has its own student union to represent students' interests. The union's clubs and societies offer a way for students to make friends and engage in activities they're passionate about, from sport clubs to societies based around academic interests to cultural and faith-based communities. The student union allows students to get the most out of university life.
