Key Summary
The School of Theatre's BA in Acting is a pre-professional training program. It combines the best of conservatory/studio training with the breadth of the general education requirements that have made Oklahoma City University one of the best small universities in the U.S. There are two TRACKS that students can choose inside the BA Acting degree: Stage and Screen Track and On-Camera Track. Both tracks share very similar classes for the first two years and then split off into specialized training tracks.
See below for highlights of the two tracks and the pdf versions of both of their curriculums.Classical Studies in Shakespeare & Chekhov 12 semesters of acting overall, including: 3 semesters of On-Camera Acting 2 semesters of Movement 5 semesters of Vocal Production & Dialect Work Contemporary Scene Study4 semesters of basic and intermediate acting classes 7 semesters of On-Camera Acting Fundamental training in Movement and Vocal Production 29 hours in the Film Department, including: Writing, Producing, Directing, and Editing for Film Electives that can be used for numerous cross-training options, including some voice and dance Audition Techniques and Professional Preparation is the Capstone class Voice Lessons with Faculty from the Wanda L. Bass School of Music Dance Classes with the Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment Audition Techniques
