There are three main objectives of this degree:
- Offer a solid basic preparation in Engineering and specific knowledge in the Technological and Management areas. Focus is given to the design and management of systems for the production of goods and services that are intended to be effective, efficient, safe and sustainable, ie suitable for current market demands.
- Obtain the engineering degree that allows immediate integration into the job market.
- Enable continuity to more advanced study cycles, such as the Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management, a second cycle course, also under the responsibility of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department. This Master allows developing more specific skills in Logistics, Production and Projects, Quality, Human Factors, Information Systems, Data and Decision, among others.
In all areas of activity, from the design and improvement of the performance of systems for the production of goods and services, to the development of solutions within the scope of quality management, production planning and control, work study, logistics, process improvement, and the implementation of information systems. Specifically:
- Consultancy and design: technological and process consultancy; industrial engineering design offices.
- Chemical industry; to feed; automobile and component construction; metalworking; electromechanics and machine tools; among others.
- Services: transport; banking and insurance; hospitals and health facilities; Airlines; logistics and distribution; project management; retailers; certification bodies.
- Other outputs: public administration; engineering labs; teaching and research.
