A Northern international business graduate is prepared to lead, problem-solve, plan, evaluate, advise and organize in a global setting. In this program, you’ll take courses that will develop your understanding of diverse human values, motivations, and relations.
International business students gain unique experiences through Northern's study abroad opportunities. Combined with our foreign language requirement and core coursework, you’ll acquire an appreciation for foreign cultures and learn how to interact and succeed in multinational business operations.
Northern also offers a popular four-week study-abroad opportunity to take intensive Spanish courses in Santiago, Chile.
Dual Degree Option Available
Now, Northern is offering an online dual-degree option that will allow you to obtain both an International Business degree and a Spanish degree in only four years! Having a business background along with Spanish language skills will prepare you for careers in a variety of national and international workplace settings.

Exit Requirements for Business Majors
In addition to Northern State University graduation requirements, baccalaureate business majors must:
- Complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of course work in the School of Business at Northern State University. Acceptance of coursework completed at other colleges and universities will be evaluated by the Dean.
- Take the School of Business exit exam
Students may enroll in Intermediate Foreign Language credits, or Study Abroad on an International Exchange EXCH 289/389/489 with 1-8 credits possible (short or long-term options available in spring, summer, or fall terms)
Suggested Double Majors: Accounting, Banking, and Financial Services, German, Management, Marketing, Spanish, Political Science.
Suggested Minors: Accounting, Agribusiness (jointly with SDSU), Banking and Financial Services, Chinese, Economics, Entrepreneurial Studies, German, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Political Science, Spanish.
