Key Summary
Introduction
This programme gives you the skills to create the visual elements we see on the screen, such as characters and environments in games and films. The need to produce 3D content with high artistic standards is a requirement in many different industries.
Why Study 3D Design and Games Technology - Content Creation?
On this programme you will learn to use the latest software and technology, such as the Houdini animation programme. You will gain experience in photogrammetry, 3D graphics and 3D environments, while developing skills in procedural programming techniques and gaining hands-on experience with advanced technology.
You will graduate with an impressive portfolio and valuable experience in technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality. These skills are increasingly in demand across a range of industries and will add real value to a 3D designer's CV.
According to Finn.no, a 3D designer in Norway can expect an annual salary of around 830,000 NOK.
One-year programme also available
The first year of this two-year programme is the same as the one-year programme in 3D Design and Games Technology. However, you can apply directly to this two-year programme and secure your place for two years.

Program Outcome
In the first year, you will learn to plan 3D projects and build, colour and light simple 3D models. Eventually, you'll be able to create and deliver advanced 3D products while developing systems to animate objects. You'll also receive a thorough introduction to game technology, content production and professional working practices.
In your second year, you'll choose a direction in which to specialise, with guidance from your subject tutors. You have the opportunity to specialise in many different areas, such as modelling, virtual or augmented reality and special effects for games. The programme culminates in a major project and a portfolio with which you can present yourself on the job market.
