At our couples therapy education, we believe that all couples are different, and so should the approach to them. That is why we will introduce you to different approaches and tools that our experienced instructors have used in practice. You will learn how to best meet the needs of couples using methods that work in practice and not just in theory.
The education combines theory with practical teaching through realistic cases, videos, and specific exercises and methods. In addition, you will have access to uniquely developed professional literature that cuts to the core of the most important topics, equipping you to work professionally with couples therapy in practice.
The education is 100% online and gives you complete flexibility to study at your own pace. There are no fixed times or deadlines to which you must adapt your daily life, making it possible to tailor the programme to your specific daily life and individual needs.

How long does an online couples therapy education take?
At Nordic Online Academy, you can study couples therapy at your own pace. The entire education consists of nine modules, which you can complete at your own pace. We recommend that you spread our couples therapy education over a minimum of 4-6 months. This period will give you a better understanding of the theoretical perspectives within couples therapy.
What does a couples therapist do?
As a couples therapist, you will be working emotionally with your clients. This requires a certain amount of empathy, as you need to be able to guide your clients towards the best solutions. Working with couples therapyis very much about human relationships. Fortunately, our couples therapy education will provide you with the knowledge and experience you need to tackle situations in different relationships in the best possible way.
What opportunities are available after completing the education?
As a couples therapist, you will have the opportunity to establish your own practice, offering guidance and support to couples who want to strengthen their relationships and improve communication.
There are no requirements for previous work experience or educational background for the couple therapy education. The most important thing is that you have an interest and desire to work professionally with couples therapy and human relationships after completing the education programme.
As a starting point, our couples therapy education is typically aimed at the following target groups:
Industry changers:
Here the student has no prior knowledge of the profession. The student gains learning and new competences based on a desire to change industry. This may be with a desire to start their own practice in the field or in interaction with our sexology practitioner education.
Sexology practitioners, coaches, therapists or psychologists:
These are students who want the education as a supplement or specialisation to their current skills and use in their own practice.
The education is 100% online, giving you complete flexibility over your studies. You can study wherever you want, whenever you want, and at your own pace.
As rewarding as working as a couples therapy can be, it can also be challenging and emotionally demanding.
