Introduction

Objective

The Part-time Master of Science Shipping and Transport program offers you a combination of extensive knowledge and skills training, enabling you to fulfill management positions in the shipping and transport industry. As a participant in the program, you will be exposed to a multidisciplinary view on maritime, port, transport and logistics issues and complex management problems. The part-time program is specifically tailored to ambitious professionals who wish to combine their career with further higher education.

Program Structure

The Part-time program has a total duration of two years and three months. It consists of four core modules with various courses, and a final module that is dedicated to thesis research. You will have classes twice a week during evening hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-9:30 PM). Every five to six weeks a full day on Friday is scheduled for excursions and hands-on training, such as management games and simulator exercises.

The program offers various means of knowledge transfer and skill development, including lectures, seminars, case assignments, presentations and hands-on training. You are expected to prepare actively for your classes as these are mainly used for discussion and reflection.

The evening classes and course assignments will allow you to interact with your fellow students, share thoughts, discuss and analyze. You will be assessed by means of reports, presentations, and written examinations. The program is fully taught in English on Campus.
