Introduction
The Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed Malaysia) five-year MB BS programme is identical to Newcastle's UK provision. It will provide a general medical education suitable for all types of doctor and serve as the foundation for later career specialisation.
Our programme is equivalent to the one delivered at our Medical School in the UK. After completing the programme, you will be awarded the degrees Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) by Newcastle University, UK. All five years of the MBBS programme are delivered in Malaysia. However, there are opportunities during the fourth year of the course for some study at our Medical School in the UK. You may also have the opportunity of studying for an extra year in the UK for an intercalated research qualification at either the Bachelors or Masters level.
