    About: The Master of Science in Environmental Health focuses on the application of biological, physical, and social sciences to understand and manage environmental factors that impact human health. Students will engage in interdisciplinary studies, combining coursework with practical experiences to address complex environmental challenges. The program typically spans 2 years, equipping graduates with the skills needed to navigate public health issues related to the environment.
    Career Outcomes: Graduates may pursue careers in environmental health agencies, public health organizations, research institutions, and consultancy firms. Potential roles include environmental health specialist, health policy advisor, and research scientist.

Currently, most of the global burden of the disease is due to environmental factors, among which are atmospheric pollution, exposure to wood smoke, pollution and water scarcity, exposure to radiation, metals, and chemicals ( pesticides and other persistent organic compounds), among others.

To face this growing problem, it is necessary to quantify the impact that the environment has on health, carrying out more quality research that also allows us to face the challenges of globalization, and to be able to have the necessary evidence to contribute to prevention and decision-making.

THE DESIGN OF THE MASTER'S DEGREE IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES TRIES TO GIVE AN ANSWER TO THE NEED TO EXPAND THE KNOWLEDGE, RESEARCH, APPROACH AND INTERVENTION IN THE MATTER OF PRIORITY HEALTH PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH DETERIORATION OF AMBIENT DETERMINATION EXPOSURE TO THE MULTIPLE AGENTS AND THEIR LINKAGE WITH THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DETERMINANTS, IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO INFLUENCE THE CONTROL AND PREVENTION OF DISEASES DERIVED FROM THESE EXPOSURES, VIEWING THE FIELD OF STUDY FROM A POPULATION PERSPECTIVE.

GENERAL PURPOSE

To train professionals who generate cutting-edge knowledge in the area of ​​environmental health and who have the necessary tools to contribute to the design and implementation of programs and strategies aimed at the prevention and/or control of damage to health caused by environmental agents.
