Introduction
International MBA
The International MBA is the premier English Taught business program offered by National Chengchi University's College of Commerce.
We are the first and only such program in Taiwan to offer a fully accredited Masters of Business Administration completely in English.
We offer all course instruction in English with a specific focus on Asia-Pacific business dynamics, and cross-cultural understanding. Half of the students and faculty are local Taiwan citizens and the latter half are from abroad, representing a diverse mixture of people from more than 20 countries on 5 continents.
The program is slated for 2 years of instruction (Maximum 5 years to fulfill program requirements) and requires a minimum of 42 credit hours for completion.
The IMBA Advantage
The International MBA (IMBA) program is the premier AACSB-accredited English-taught MBA program in Taiwan that emphasizes the cultivation of elite professionals from around the world into future business leaders in an international environment. With the continued growth of Asiaโs emerging economies and the expansion of firms on a global scale, the NCCU IMBA offers the perfect venue for international candidates to learn about the Asian economies and for Taiwanese candidates to benefit from an international education without leaving their doorstep.
Global View with an Asian Perspective
The unique design of the IMBA curriculum aims to equip students with the foundational knowledge of commerce and leverage on this to provide students with a global view as well as an Asian perspective of the world's latest business trends. Students have the option of specializing in Finance, International Business, Management in Asia or Marketing. While all courses capture an international outlook of businesses and how it applies in the Asian context, certain courses concentrate mainly on practices in the Asian region.
Prime Location
The IMBA program at CNCCU is conveniently located in the Wenshan district of Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan and the heart of Asia's budding financial, commercial, and technological hub. Apart from being well known for its IT infrastructure and manufacturing prowess, as one of Asia's Little Dragons, Taiwan is slated to be a catalyst in the future development and advancements in Asia. The beauty of our IMBA program is that we are directly in the middle of this blossoming progress.
Diverse Student Body and World Class Faculty
The IMBA program provides an optimal international and multicultural learning environment by maintaining an optimal balance in the number of Taiwanese citizens and international students admitted to the program. The international students represent a diverse mix of professionals from more than 20 countries in 5 continents. This is complemented by the guidance they receive from a faculty base comprised of academics and industry experts in Taiwan and from around the world.
International Student Exchange Opportunities
To further assist students in facing challenges in international business environments, we offer students exchange programs with leading universities in Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. By leveraging our cross-continent academic resources, we have established partnerships with over 40 universities worldwide, allowing students to further enrich their studies by experiencing different cultures and business environments.
Strong Links with the Business Community
CNCCU has strong ties with the industry and government and has various collaborative researchers with them. Students are given ample opportunities to interact with real-world business leaders who are invited to teach courses based on their professional disciplines and through the numerous seminars held throughout their stay in the program.
Theory and Practice
The program is designed to provide a meaningful balance between theoretical and practical learning. Majority of the courses apply the case study method, which enables participants to learn by doing and teaching others. Specially designed classes such as Practical Business Project, also provide students with the opportunity to get involved with real-world business problem decision-making and practice writing business cases.
Flexibility in Study
The IMBA program offers candidates the option to take either full-time or part-time study. This flexible design allows candidates to decide on their workload and schedule to accommodate their busy careers. Most classes are conducted in the evenings and weekends. We also offer an array of courses for full-time students to involve themselves with. Completion of the IMBA program requires 42 credit hours and the program duration is between 2 years (minimum) and 5 years (maximum) with two years available to defer studies. The program also offers the flexibility of either doing a General MBA or a Specialized MBA in one of the four concentrations.
