The Joint MA in Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture is a 100% online Master’s programme with live interactive classes, jointly offered by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the European Wergeland Centre.

The programme is designed for students from Europe and beyond who wish to pursue a European Master’s degree without relocating, combining real-time online teaching with flexible asynchronous study.

It equips graduates with theoretical and practical expertise in Democratic Culture, Human Rights and Education — competences increasingly valued in education systems, NGOs, international organisations and policy environments worldwide.

Why this particular MA Program

  • 100% online with live interactive classes (not correspondence or self-study only)
  • Courses on Friday and Saturday only- suitable for working professionals
  • European public university Master’s degree
  • Designed for international students worldwide
  • Three specializations in Education, Human Rights and Democratic Culture
  • Optional on-site internship or summer school (not mandatory)

The programme combines live online teaching (75%) with structured asynchronous study (25%). Students complete two semesters of coursework followed by the Master’s Thesis.
