Master of Public Administration (Executive MPA Programme)(March intake)

The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMP) program, established in 2005, aims to introduce contemporary public administration theories with both Eastern and Western perspectives, share international, particularly Singaporean, public administration experiences and lessons, and enhance participants' leadership skills. Experts, scholars, and policymakers and implementers impart the latest public administration theories through a variety of learning methods that combine theory with practice, such as classroom discussions, case studies, and practical simulations. During the program, participants have the opportunity to visit and engage with Singaporean government departments and businesses, sharing public administration reform experiences with government officials and policymakers, strengthening interaction and connections. The program primarily targets government officials, university and other industry administrators, and business executives from China.

The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMP) program is designed to combine theoretical foundations with practical case studies, aiming to enhance students' decision-making and problem-solving abilities and cultivate innovative strategic thinking. Courses are taught by experts and scholars with a deep understanding of China's national conditions and a broad knowledge of both Chinese and Western cultures. The program emphasizes field trips to Singapore, extending the classroom learning model beyond the classroom. Each student is required to participate in visits and lectures arranged by the program office. This includes visits to Singaporean government departments and corporate institutions, exchanging public and corporate management experiences with government officials and business managers, and strengthening interaction and connections. Various departments at Nanyang Technological University also frequently host lectures and seminars, which students can actively participate in to broaden their knowledge.

The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMP) program is a one-year program taught in Chinese. Students can simultaneously take elective courses from the complementary Executive Master of Management Economics (EME) program to enhance their innovative strategic thinking and apply it to promoting public policy research and practice.

Graduates will be awarded a Master of Public Administration degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The most outstanding graduates will receive awards such as gold medals from several prestigious institutions.
