If any of the above questions are appealing to you, join Mediation LL.M studies. This master's degree responds to the increasing demand for mediation knowledge and skills. The nature of the program is unique – it combines law knowledge with psychology and communication skills. Mediation LL.M. is designed for conflict resolution specialists both lawyers and representatives of other professions and is focused on practical learning methods, including real case studies, role plays, and other experiential learning.
Engage in various projects, take part in international mediation tournaments, and establish close relationships with your potential employers. Become a professional mediator, improve in conflict management, intercultural communication and so much more. Work with eminent lecturers and international mediation professionals. Expand your social network as part of the international student group, joining individuals with different backgrounds education, different countries, and cultures.
By joining LL.M studies at MRU, upon graduation you will have acquired skills to professionally settle disputes and adequately represent your clients in various mediation procedures. Spend only 1 year studying in Lithuania to receive your master's degree in the specialized field of law.

Scholarships and Funding

MRU Incentive scholarships
Who can apply?
Best-performing Bachelor or Master degree students (state-funded and non-state-funded) from target foreign countries*.
Financial provisions:
1,5 BSB (1 BSB = 55 Eur) provided 2 times per year (autumn semester (September-January)/ spring semester (February-June)) and is paid monthly.
Criteria:
Best-performing students in the academic unit are determined each semester by their learning results (average of the last session grades – at least 8).
*List of the countries is approved by the Rector on the proposal of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.

- Can apply optimal methods of counseling individuals to encourage and enable the analysis of conflicts, interpret, solve problems, think critically, monitor, evaluate and analyze facts, and draw conclusions that enable peaceful resolution of disputes;
- Can provide high-quality independent dispute resolution expert services and, using the knowledge of alternative dispute resolution, independently start, develop, and manage legal counseling and dispute resolution business, generate new ideas in a multicultural environment, and adopt socially responsible and ethical decisions.
Subject-specific competencies and learning outcomes
- Knowledge and its application
- Can understand the methods of dispute resolution and their applicability, as a result of it – can advise the parties to the dispute regarding the choice of the most appropriate way of resolution for the particular dispute and professionally conduct the mediation procedure and/or properly represent their clients involved in the mediation.
- Research skills
- Can analyze complex phenomena of intercultural social life – private international disputes, their legal environment, and draw conclusions necessary for their decision by the most appropriate means, taking into account the peculiarities of the particular dispute and its participants, as well as norms of private international law.
- Special Abilities
- Can provide professional mediation services on a stand-alone basis or in a team, and to properly prepare the documents needed to initiate, execute and complete this procedure;
- Can organize and carry out the mediation process using modern information technologies.

Career Opportunities
Having graduated from the Mediation LLM, individuals can work as dispute settlement specialists, representatives (counsel) to the parties to the dispute, negotiators, mediators or conciliators in the future. It is likely that a large part of LL.M. graduates will be interested in providing mediation services, the other - using their acquired competencies in mediation assisting the parties involved in the dispute as consultants, others - will become professional dispute resolution specialists capable of identifying the most appropriate way of solving the problem according to the characteristics of the particular dispute and its parties.
