Key Summary
Candidates will research current trends, issues, and political dilemmas in special education and how they impact learning and teaching of students with special needs. They will examine the role of the special educator in accurately identifying students with special needs and using appropriate strategies, available services, resources and assistive technologies to design goal-oriented instruction and evaluation of students with special needs. Candidates will evaluate various behavior and education plans to design the individualized plans for education and assessment of students with special needs. Graduates will be prepared to teach and support special needs students at any P-12 grade level.
