Introduction

The Allied Health Science program provides the science, technology, engineering, and math, knowledge and skills you need to succeed in a range of growing health care professions. Use your associate degree as a foundation for earning a bachelor's or master's degree later, or use it to step into some clinical or nonclinical position right away. 63 credits Focus on a range of clinical or nonclinical concentrations.

The Associate of Science in Allied Health Science degree provides students a pathway to advance into various healthcare professions. Students are introduced to the roles of varied healthcare professionals. The curriculum provides a foundation in general studies combined with coursework in public health and life sciences, subjects such as anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and pathophysiology. Students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to seek entry-level employment into a variety of healthcare and health promoting environments.

These include, but are not limited to, hospitals, short- and long-term care facilities, provider offices, the CDC, and insurance companies. Additionally, graduates of this associate degree program are prepared with the foundational course work and general discipline-related knowledge to advance into higher level clinical and non-clinical allied health degree programs.Apply the principles and theories of the sciences as competent and considerate healthcare professionals. Utilize critical thinking to formulate solutions to various healthcare and health-related situations. Examine various uses of information technology in healthcare systems to formulate technology-based solutions and make decisions in a variety of healthcare environments.
