Key Summary
Introduction
This Sports Management programme is designed to prepare you to work in management positions in sports and related industry. It gives a solid understanding and knowledge about sport as it is practised in the European context and introduces students to ethical, economic, organizational, historical, political, and psychological topics, necessary to meet the demands of this growing industry. The Master’s program is open to both Norwegian and international students with a recognized first degree (BBA, BA or BSc), equivalent to 180 ECTS, within relevant academic fields. The entire degree programme is taught and assessed in English.
Molde University College collaborates with many partner organisations, which gives our students unique access to internships. This provides essential entries to organisations and platforms of exchange between practitioners, students and faculty. Our studies are flexible, and students may also go on exchange to one of our partner universities in Europe. The international MSc program consists of 90 credits of coursework and a master’s thesis of 30 ECTS credits.
Applicants should preferably hold a recognised first degree (BBA, BA, BSc), equivalent to a minimum of 180 ECTS credits, in Sport Management/ Sciences, Business Administration or Social Sciences. At least 80 ECTS of the bachelor`s degree should be related to economy, sociology, political science, organization or similar relevant academic disciplines..
Admission to the international MSc programmes at Molde University College, Specialized University in Logistics is highly competitive, and applicants should preferably have completed their bachelor’s degree with an average grade of Excellent or Very Good, or at least a minimum average grade of Good/ grade C or equivalent (Like First Class or Second Class Upper Division or equivalent grades).

The Msc in Sport Management qualifies for working in management positions in the sport and sport-related sector. Completing this study students will achieve a Master’s degree and thereby qualifies for research positions and future PhD studies.
Future studies
Candidates with an MSc in Sport Management should qualify for a PhD in Sport Management. In most cases this is dependent on excellent academic performances.
