The Master's in Insurance & Risk Management offers the highest level of flexibility, and it is available in-person or online, full-time or part-time. Thanks to the hybrid formula, students can opt to participate on campus or online, according to their business or personal schedule. Moreover, participants can complete the Master's degree at their own pace (1 year or 2 years) and customize their curriculum line-up.

The Master in Insurance & Risk Management combines technical expertise with general management training (roughly 1/3 of the program) and personal development: a strong blend of skills, essential to aspiring leaders.

The Master in Insurance & Risk Management Career Services team accompanies participants from the first day of the program, helping them define their professional objectives and develop the right skills to achieve them. Once the destination has been identified, the journey begins.

Along with these initiatives, Career Services works to support each candidate in the organization of interviews for the internship for participants who choose this solution, which starts in June and lasts from 3 to 6 months.
Curriculum
The Master's in Insurance & Risk Management offers both full-time and part-time options. The learning is equal across the two formats, and you can choose your own pace to complete it.
- 12-month full-time, intense, and fast-paced. 8 months of on-campus or online attendance, followed by an internship or other elective activities, and the final thesis.
- 2-years part-time, timeline and course line-up are customized: you will get advice from the MIRM Program Manager on optimizing your Master's schedule.
Both the full-time and part-time options can be followed in the classroom or online. For those studying online, courses are synchronous (live) and run in parallel with the on-campus cohort. However, there is the possibility of following up to 30% of the sessions on-demand (recorded).
The application period for the 27th edition, starting on 1st October 2025, is open.
MIRM Phases
The first phase of the Master's includes the mandatory Core Section, made up of the Compulsory courses:
- 17 related to technical hard skills;
- 5 dedicated to managerial issues;
- 1 Leadership Dynamics & Accountability course, 1 year long and focused on soft skills and personal development.
After the Core phase, participants customize the Master's by choosing some Elective courses according to aptitudes and aspirations in order to personalize their Master's study plan.
In addition, the program is customizable with various options:

- Study Tours in Europe
At the end, you will present a Final Thesis on a topic relating to insurance, finance, or risk management of your choice.

Scholarships and Tuition Waivers
At MIB Trieste School of Management, we offer a range of merit-based Scholarships in collaboration with our partner companies. These scholarships can cover up to 100% or 70% of the tuition fees, depending on your qualifications. The reduction is directly applied to your Master’s program fees.

You can apply for up to 3 Scholarships, which cannot be combined. To improve your chances, we suggest selecting only the Scholarships that match your interests and for which you meet all the criteria.
Awarding
Scholarships are awarded based on merit criteria and any requirements specified by sponsor companies.
Feedback regarding the assignment is provided at the end of the selection process, along with feedback on admission to the classroom.
In assessing candidates, the Admissions Board considers:
