Key Summary

About: The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a comprehensive program focused on equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for a successful career in dentistry. The course typically spans five years and combines rigorous academic study with clinical practice, preparing graduates to handle diverse dental issues and maintain high standards of patient care.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue a variety of career paths, including roles as dentists in private practice or hospitals, positions in dental research, and opportunities in public health and education. Some may also specialize further through postgraduate training or enter academia.

Our BDS is delivered over 5 years, where Year 1 & 2 covers Phase 1 Pre-Clinical Subjects. Year 3 onwards students cover Clinical Subjects and spend most of their time in our state-of-the-art facilities that include 3 Student Polyclinics with 51 dental units each as well as a well-equipped Prosthetic Laboratory.

The BDS programme is a comprehensive course dedicated to providing value-based dental education utilizing up-to-date technologies to ensure student satisfaction in acquiring the clinical experience required for a general dental practice. Hospital dentistry, community programmes, general medicine, and general surgery postings have been arranged with collaborative agencies to facilitate teaching-learning activities. The arranged postings allow the acquisition of knowledge, clinical skills, and effective communication skills in the real working environment.
