Key Summary

About: The MSc Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy at Mediterranean College was designed with the University of Derby and launched in 2010 as Greece’s first integrative psychotherapy Master’s. It meets British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) criteria though it’s not BACP-accredited; graduates may apply for individual accreditation. The MSc emphasizes integrative practice, blends three therapeutic approaches and includes 300 hours of compulsory supervised clinical practice.

Career Outcomes: Graduates may register with BACP and the Hellenic Association for Counselling (EES) and work as independent integrative counsellors–psychotherapists in counselling centres, community and social welfare units, NGOs, health settings, schools or private practice. They may pursue PhD or PsyD.

  • The first Integrative Psychotherapy Master’s to be offered in Greece (2010).
  • Top 30 UK University postgraduate degree.
  • Meets the requirements for membership in the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
  • Supervised clinical placement in settings.

The MSc Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy is a programme structured in order to equip students with all the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the field of psychotherapy as independent counsellors – psychotherapists of the integrative approach. Students are encouraged to develop their understanding of the theoretical, social, cultural and ideological contexts in which their clients perceive, confront and manage problems. They will also consider and analyse major trends and orientations within integrative therapeutic work and develop their ability to identify and use appropriate sources of supervision within counselling practice.

The programme has been designed by the University of Derby according to the criteria of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). While it meets BACP requirements it is not accredited by the Association; therefore students can apply for individual accreditation with the BACP, upon course completion.
