The master's degree program in Mechatronics - Smart Technologies provides the necessary methodological skills in the fields of electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science and smart technologies to later fill top management positions in international companies in the automotive industry, special machine engineering, semiconductor technology and many more. Future-oriented topics such as:

are in the focus. The latest innovations in the fields of electronics and mechanical engineering are studied in more depth (e.g. interdisciplinary project).

In addition to the latest technical know-how, the future engineers also learn essential skills in the areas of management and leadership, entrepreneurship and start-up foundation.

In order to guarantee the practical relevance of the program, numerous laboratories, projects and technical case studies are planned in parallel to the lectures, enabling students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. To this end, the MCI draws not only on its own teaching staff but also on an international network of experts from the field.

Students in the Master's program benefit from the opportunity to study for a year at renowned universities in France, Spain or the USA, to specialize further and also to obtain a second degree (double degree).

The Master program in Mechatronics & Smart Technologies is open to graduates of Bachelor and Diploma programs in the fields of engineering/engineering science or natural sciences whose curricula involve at least 75 relevant ECTS points. The decision on the acceptability of prior qualifications is taken by the Program Director.

This Master program is an ideal follow-on such Bachelor programs as Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering & Management, as well as Environmental Engineering, Process & Energy Engineering.

Program Outcome

For citizens of the following countries, the tuition fee is 363 euros per semester plus a fee for compulsory membership to the Austrian National Union of Students:

non-EU citizens, who according to sec. 2 of the Austrian Study Act on Universities of Applied Sciences (FHStG) are subject to sec. 1 of the Austrian Regulation on Eligible Groups of Persons (PersGV) (Austrian Federal Law Gazette (BGBL) II no. 340/2013 as amended from time to time).

For students of non-EU countries not considered eligible according to above regulations, the tuition fee is as follows:

Bachelor’s program; EUR 7,000 per semester
Master’s program: EUR 7,000 per semester
Austrian Students’ Union (ÖH) membership fee: EUR 22,70 per semester.
