About: Massey University's Bachelor of Māori Visual Arts (BMVA) at Toioho ki Apiti offers a Māori-centered programme that integrates te reo, tikanga and manaakitanga. You’ll study two- and three-dimensional design, art theory and practice, developing perceptual and conceptual skills. The programme treats language, culture and art as inseparable, caters for all te reo levels, and supports interaction with the Māori community through exhibitions and community programmes.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can work as Māori visual artists, curators, community arts coordinators, cultural advisors, art educators, designers or creative industry practitioners, applying skills in galleries, kaupapa Māori projects, heritage projects and arts management.
