Key Summary
Students who desire careers as Early Childhood Educator IIs (ECE IIs) will acquire the knowledge and skills required to work with children, aged newborn to 12 years old, through this provincially accredited* and comprehensive diploma program.
Working closely with instructors, and in groups, students develop their understanding of child development, guiding techniques, and play-based curriculum, including art, music, literature and science, while learning to create and implement meaningful, age-appropriate, culturally diverse and inclusive programming for children.
Work practicum opportunities throughout the program allow students to apply these lessons in various childcare settings (pre-schools, nursery schools, Headstart programs, as well as other child and family resource facilities) and master their skills working with children. And MITTβsΒ Work Skills Series workshopsΒ provide students a strong foundation in employability and essential skills to help them transition seamlessly from classroom to career.
