Introduction
How can nutrition and exercise improve an individual's health? What are the factors that have an impact on health? Our bachelor’s programme in Nutrition, Fitness and Health will answer these questions and will offer students a combination of theory-based and applied learning that will prepare them for their future career as a dietician.
The Nutrition, Fitness and Health degree enables students to acquire the scientific and fundamental knowledge of nutrition, which includes health promotion, disease prevention and management, the importance of nutrition through the lifecycle, and the role of nutrition in exercise. They will also be provided with essential hands-on skills, through practical classes and internships, nutritional assessment techniques, nutrition intervention, kitchen techniques, and counselling skills.

Curriculum
Nutrition, Fitness and Health study programme
Over six semesters the programme offers broad and in-depth theoretical and applied knowledge, essentials for nutrition, health, dietetics, culinary and other related food science. In the first year, students will learn scientific concepts that represent the foundations for their education in nutrition and dietetics, students will also engage in learning practical activities on cooking and kitchen techniques in our Kitchen/Dietetic Laboratory.
During the second year, modules will introduce students to the field of dietetics giving them the opportunity to learn applied knowledge in therapeutic nutrition and dietetics, essential skills for communication and counselling, and research synthesis and methodology.
In the final year students, will apply theoretical knowledge acquired earlier in the programme and participate in two practical internships of 300 hours each in clinical and food industry settings respectively, while taking modules that introduce laws and regulations of the dietetics profession, and working on their dissertation.
