Introduction

Programme overview

This programme is specifically designed to meet the demands within research, field archaeology and cultural heritage management. It combines high scientific and theoretical standards with intensive practical training. You will be taught how to excavate and document the past, how to apply the latest digital technologies for documentation and visualisation, how to analyse artefacts and other archaeological materials, how to analyse buildings and landscapes, and how to communicate your findings and research results to a wider audience. We offer Sweden’s only international MA programme in archaeology and ancient history, as well as a rich, multidisciplinary teaching and research environment.

  • Archaeological Field School at the Viking Age site of Uppåkra.
