    About : The PhD in Cultural Studies offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding cultural practices, theories, and effects. This programme emphasizes critical thinking and research, preparing students to tackle complex societal issues through varied cultural lenses.
    Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue careers in academia, cultural institutions, media organizations, or governmental agencies. They may also work as researchers, cultural critics, or arts administrators, utilizing their skills in analysis and communication within diverse cultural fields.

The University offers 25 MPhil and PhD Programmes in Arts, Business, Social Sciences and Science disciplines. In addition to admission to our PhD in Cultural Studies programme, the University also has popular research-based 2-year MPhil in Cultural Studies programme.

To offer more diversified learning opportunities, especially for interdisciplinary research studies, the University has been actively seeking collaborative opportunities with overseas universities. In the 2021-22 academic year, the University has launched the "Double PhD Degree Programme in Economics" with Wuhan University (WHU), China and the "PhD Programmes with Joint Supervision" with Shenzhen University (SZU), China in the research areas related to International Relations and Development Studies. Department of Cultural Studies

Established in 2000, the Department of Cultural Studies is the first department of its kind in Asia, with a fully interdisciplinary and international faculty committed exclusively to teaching and research in contemporary Cultural Studies.

The department also offer various opportunities for exposure to workshops in different locations through our Inter-Asia cultural studies networks.
