With the academic support of Tsinghua University, Lingnan University introduces the Doctor of Business Administration in Global Digital Economy and Governance (DBA in GDEG) Programme, to broaden the horizons and vision of senior executives and top-tier professionals with doctoral-level training. This DBA in GDEG programme is the first of its kind in the region to provide both micro-and macro-level interdisciplinary training for the development of the global digital economy and governance.

The DBA programme not only equips executives and professionals with cutting-edge, practical knowledge in digital business, economy, and governance but also reveals to practitioners the relevant challenges and opportunities in digital transformation.

The programme positions itself as a high-impact professional doctoral programme, with the Graduate School of Lingnan University and the Faculty of Social Science of Tsinghua University as academic supporting units. The programme also receives full support from the Academy of Digital China (Fujian), Fintech Innovation Network, and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, providing students with opportunities to participate in advanced digital technologies and master in-depth knowledge of digital transformation through practices.
Diversified learning and industry practice
The programme invites experts from its Advisory Board, leading enterprises, and government authority to share information and experiences as well as providing practical guidance on technical and management issues that arise in the digital era. It also enables students to gain diversified industry experience by organizing domestic and overseas field visits and study tours to world-class academic institutions, digital business tycoons, Internet summits and various conventions, to expand the intellectual horizon, and to seek opportunities for networking and cooperation.
Students are required to complete 57 credits including 8 core courses and 2 elective courses for the first two years as well as thesis research in the final two years. In addition to lectures, students will participate in diversified learning activities such as study trips, seminars and forums.
Mode of Teaching
Core courses and electives will be conducted in Chinese and taught intensively across the weekends every 6 to 8 weeks.

Thesis (27 credits)*
The thesis should normally have a length of between 40,000 and 60,000 words and be supported by an oral presentation.
*A Pass or Fail grade will be given in the courses concerned and is not counted towards the CGPA calculation.
Graduation Requirements
- Complete 10 courses (8 core courses and 2 elective courses) and the doctoral thesis (40,000 – 60,000 words) and successfully pass an oral examination as specified in the programme curriculum and obtain a minimum of 57 credits.
- Achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.67
