Introduction
Eyesi Surgical Simulation-based Training of Vitreoretinal Surgery
Through the simulator's operating room microscope trainees see the virtual surgical field in stereo and high resolution while operating with life-like surgical instruments. The highly realistic simulation of interaction with tissue in real-time increases traineesโ surgical experience without risk for patients.
The aim of the course is to practice vitreoretinal microsurgical skills repetitively until a standard skill level is reached.

Curriculum
- Introduction lecture on Eyesi surgical simulator and Dry-Lab
- Rules of working with the simulator
- Lectures on vitreoretinal surgery equipment and instruments, pars plana vitrectomy steps, surgical tactics, prevention and management of complications
- Training with Eyesi I surgical simulator in Dry-Lab.
- Vitreoretinal training modules include posterior hyaloid detachment, peripheral vitrectomies, internal limiting membrane peeling, the removal of epiretinal membranes, or the treatment of retinal detachments with oil or gas endotamponades
