Introduction
Bachelor in Music Performance
The aim of Music Performance study program is to train a professional musician of the chosen specialisation, able to prepare and publicly perform works of various styles and genres as solo pieces or ensembles and/or orchestras of various compositions, who knows the musical repertoire of the chosen specialisation from historical and theoretical points of view and is able to communicate and cooperate as well as to develop concert activity.
The Music Performance program is based on historically-formed music performers training tradition that is recognised internationally. The universal character of artistic and professional skills acquired by graduates of the LMTA Music Performance program is confirmed by the fact that they successfully pursue their careers not only in Lithuania but also in orchestras, music theatres and other professional organisations abroad, perform concerts worldwide and successfully work as music teachers.
Specialisations in Vilnius– Accordion, Choral Conducting, Vocal Performance, Jazz, Wind Orchestra Conducting, Symphony Orchestra Conducting, Harpsichord, Lithuanian Folk Instruments, String Instruments, Wind and Percussion Instruments, Organ.
Specialisations in Klaipėda– Choral Conducting and Organ Studies, Jazz and Popular Music, Musical, String Instruments (Guitar).

Curriculum
The study program is focused on the preparation of a professional music performer.
Subjects of the field of the study program, general university subjects, optional subjects, subjects of the field of the minor studies, internship, Final Art Project.
Gaining international experience by choosing part-time studies abroad through exchange programmes is encouraged. Improvement of subject-related competencies in a non-formal way (by participating in master classes, concert activities, competitions) and cooperation with artists from other fields as well as participation in interdisciplinary projects of art industries and international activities are encouraged. There is a possibility to choose a minor study program of pedagogy and to obtain a pedagogue’s qualification.

Bachelors of the Music Performance study programme can continue their education in the master’s degree studies in the field of music (which belong to the field of art studies) and in this way improve the competencies of music performers acquired in the bachelor’s studies and combine art practice studies with art research.

Career Opportunities
Graduates are able to work as music performers (soloists and/or ensemble, orchestra artists, concertmasters, illustrators,tutors) in art groups, cultural and educational institutions, as well as to independently develop creative activities. In terms of demand in the labour market and the interests of employers, professional music artists are also needed in various fields of cultural and creative industries as well as in musical instruction and education institutions. Having chosen minor pedagogy studies and acquired the qualification of a pedagogue, graduates can work as teachers in children’s music (art) schools and conservatories.
