The Biology Pre-Med concentration is one of the most popular degree study programs at this University as graduates who excel are guaranteed an interview with LMU's DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and the opportunity to gain entry to a U.S. Medical School. The program offers two tracts: 1) pre-professional for those students considering medical school, pharmacy, veterinary science, etc. and 2) ecology for those students considering careers in conservation. Internships are available for those interested in conservation. Students in the undergraduate program complete a research project in their junior and senior years under the supervision of a science faculty member.

Courses information

The curriculum includes courses in molecular genetics, integrated vertebrate anatomy and physiology, microbiology, ecology, biochemistry, and molecular cell biology.

Biology minor

A minor in biology is offered. Many biology majors minor in chemistry.

The minor is designed to augment the education of a student pursuing a major in another discipline. Often this additional focus provides an extra edge in pursuit of a position in business or entry into law school.
