The Publishing Arts major provides students with hands-on opportunities in publication design (books and journals) as they work on the team that produces the Talking River Review (a student-run and nationally recognized literary journal). They develop skills in editing, project supervision, graphic design, utilizing up-to-date technology, business communication and organization, critical evaluation of written works, distribution, and sales. The Publishing Arts major also provides students with dynamic exposure to literature, creative production, and workplace decision-making.

All English: Publishing Arts graduates are required to complete:

  • An exit interview and
  • A senior research project with accompanying symposium presentation.
