Leeds Conservatoire

About

Leeds Conservatoire offers a vibrant creative community, industry-focused courses, and world-class facilities, all within a city renowned for its rich cultural scene.

A pioneering conservatoire

It has been 60 years since we opened, and we are proud to still be recognised as a pioneering institution in our field. From our diverse and vibrant offering of programs to being the first to launch a Jazz degree in Europe, we have always strived to lead the way.

As we are part of an ever-evolving industry, we continually adapt to ensure that we remain at the forefront of developments and innovations.

An industry-focused conservatoire

We are proud to be an All-Steinway School and a Roland Academy in partnership with Roland UK. Our conservatoire features state-of-the-art facilities, expert staff, and professional opportunities during your studies, providing innovative training that equips you with the skills to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.

We maintain strong partnerships that enhance your education, offering opportunities to collaborate with industry professionals, network with peers, and perform at events. Our partnerships include Opera North, Backstage Academy, Leeds Playhouse, Red Ladder Theatre Company, Ivors Academy, Sound City Festival, Leeds Festival, and the International Songwriting Camp, among others.

Additionally, our enterprise department provides students with paid and experiential opportunities, including a Musicians’ Booking Agency, artist and business development support, and funding for promotional materials and additional training.

An inclusive conservatoire

At Leeds Conservatoire, we truly value diversity and love welcoming artists from all parts of the globe into our vibrant community. We strive to foster an environment where students feel supported and confident, allowing them the freedom to express themselves and their artistry fully.
