Introduction

As part of this course, you’ll:

  • Learn how to establish and maintain a safe working environment for everyone
  • Develop your knowledge of how different organisations use varying levels of safety procedures and understand how to assess their impact on a company.
  • Investigate organisations in their entirety and gain a broad knowledge of other departments such as marketing, sales and human resources.
  • Explore how departments across a business are affected by health and safety procedures and processes.
  • Enhance your understanding of the technical and human aspects of health and safety and the causes of problems, whether machine malfunctions or human misjudgements.

Alternative study routes

You could study this course or PG Dip Health & Safety to achieve an accredited Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) award. If you have already completed an IOSH-accredited postgraduate diploma, you could convert your qualification into a master’s degree by studying two additional research modules part-time over one year.
