Similar to LACM campus programs, LACM Online offers an online hybrid program in Drum Performance: The Associate of Arts program in Drum Performance is a 9 quarter part-time Professional Degree program. The Drum Program curriculum for LACM Online was created by world-renowned department co-chairs Ralph Humphrey and Joe Porcaro to improve motor skills, technique, and sound, present contemporary rhythm concepts, and develop a wide range of repertoire across all styles. Courses are specially sequenced to maximize learning potential throughout the program. Additionally, it develops modern studio recording skills and informs students of important music business practices. This online hybrid program also includes 2 visits for intensive on-campus programming.

Admission Requirements

High School Juniors, Seniors, and Graduates may apply to the Associate's Degree and Diploma programs at LACM Online. Please visit our admissions webpage for a detailed description of application requirements. Requirements will include a musical Reference and Official Transcripts. International students are required to submit TOEFL score of 70 or higher.

How to Apply for Admission

Applicants who are ready to apply to LACM will need to complete an Admissions Application and upload audition media through the Accepted Application. Applicants will need to request their official high school, GED, or college transcripts from their granting institution and have them sent to LACM. TOEFL Scores, for International Students, will also need to be sent to LACM. All applicants will submit a $60 application fee when the application is complete.

Transfer Credit

LACM Online does not directly transfer music credits from another institution except with affiliate colleges that have established articulation agreements. Students are encouraged to take proficiency placement testing. Students that prove proficiency for a course through placement testing will receive credit for the course and are able to move on to the next level of instruction.
