Bachelor of Arts in History

History is a discipline involving reconstruction and interpretation of past human affairs in a manner which seeks to understand change. It uses analysis, examinations and narratives of past events to search for patterns of cause and explain the course that shapes societies in diverse parts of the world from the earliest times to the present. We can say that history is the record of human life over a long period of time. Whether in written documents or material remains, history is both history as fact and history to be written. We can come in touch with history indirectly through the results which historians have examined.

The History Department offers four sub-majors, Korean History, Oriental History, Western History and Archaeology. We provide an education and research system both for undergraduate and graduate students. Not only are we interested in educating students in history, but also in strengthening historical education for humanity and fostering social beings. We have created a new research curriculum for historical & cultural studies including archaeology, museology, collectionmanagement, cultural resource management and practical training
