The Korean Language and Culture Program at Kwangwoon University Institute of International Education (KWIIE) is designed to help international students develop practical Korean language skills and cultural understanding for academic success and career opportunities in Seoul.

For new applicants from abroad:

  4. 1 Birth & Family certificate
  5. 1 Copy of the ID card of the applicant and his / her guardian
  6. An original certificate of graduation from the last school attended
    • Apostille (After notarizing Diplomas and Certificates of Graduation from the last school attended, and then should confirm to consular representative at the consular office.) Relevant countries: Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Mongolia, Thailand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, Peru.
    • Other Countries: 1 Official Certificate of Graduation from the most recent school

  7. 1 Official Academic Transcript from the last school attended
  8. 1 Copy of the parents’ certificate of employment & income
    (Must include the name, address, and contact information of the company)
  9. An original certificate of financial document - Over KRW 10,000,000
    (If the Bank statement is under the parent's name, a notarized family certificate is required)
  10. Korean guarantor’s certificate of income and employment (notarized)
    - An individual applicant is required to have a Korean guarantor

Note: English translation notarization is required for any document not in English or the Korean Language

For a student who has a valid visa to study in Korea(Other than a D-4 visa)

  1. Application form, a statement of purpose (must be downloaded, written, and signed by the applicant)
  2. 1 ID photo
  3. 1 copy of a passport
  4. 1 copy of the certificate of graduation from the last school attended
  5. 1 copy of an alien registration card (or a copy of a valid visa)

Most students enroll in our program using a D-4 visa, which is the Korean visa for language training. This visa allows students to study in Korea for up to two years, with an extension required every six months.

If you obtain a visa that permits you to stay in Korea for longer than 10 weeks (70 days), you are eligible to complete at least one full semester at our institute. We offer four semesters per year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Structure: Room for two persons
Expense: 290,000 KRW (200 USD) / month approx. (deposit 100,000 KRW / 70 USD not included)
Private Facilities: Bed (bedding prepared individually), bookshelf, desk, chair, wardrobe, bathroom, shower, internet, etc.
Shared Facilities: Laundry room, ironing room, fitness room, seminar room, communal kitchen, and unmanned parcel storage. etc.
Residency period: Minimum 6 months /

Move-in: Available for move-in in February and August (Only)
