Welcome to study to be a hairstylist in the oldest private academy in Finland. Our education program will motivate and inspire you and our aim is to give you skills that link directly to your personal success.
Our students are entitled to student grant. Great Cut Academy is established in 1985 and Great Cut International classes wish to give our foreign English-speaking students the best of hairdressing education in Finland.
The main aim of our educators is to give you professional skills and qualifications with which your career as a hairstylist will be a success story.
The academies are located in the city centers of Helsinki and Tampere, the two biggest cities in Finland.
Your creativity and good motivation are the basis on which your professional talents and an inspiring studying process is built. Creativity knows no borders; your future as a hairstylist can be anywhere in the world. Creativity and high-class customer service are languages spoken everywhere.
It is our experience that your Finnish skills improved significantly during the nine-month course. The education and books are both in Finnish and in English.
9 months of hairstylist education
great cut International classes start in the beginning of January and September. The education is from Monday till Fridayย from 9-10 am till 3-4 pm. Multimodal training.
Theory lessons of essential professionalย subjects are combined with practices in hair cutting, styling, perming and coloring.
Customer service is an essential part in learning.
You can choose nine-month hairstylist or eleven-monthย hairstylist - beauty make-up artistย classes.
citybeauty academy
At the citybeauty academy cosmetology school, you get individual guidance in a small group throughout your study period - that's why you have the opportunity to graduate as a cosmetology professional in a shorter time. Students traditionally have a job after school โ employers value education.
For entrepreneurs in the beauty industry, the training periods are practically free because the entire training fee can be deducted from the company's taxes.
Study program
The study program includes the following areas (Total 145 credits)
- Foot and hand care services (20 credits)
- Facial care services (35 credits)
- Sales work and customer-oriented service in the hair and beauty industry (15 credits)
- Enhancement services (15 credits)
- Body care services ( 20 credits)
- Business planning (15 credits)
- Hair and beauty care advisory services (25 credits)
In addition, the curriculum includes the following special courses: structural nail course (1 day, Polyacrylic gel training, basic) and eyelash extension course (1 day, volume and classic eyelash extensions)
The study plan, which clearly aims to develop professional knowledge and skills, also includes client exercises at the citybeauty salon.
High-level hands-on training continues the traditions of the Training Center,
where motivating and inspiring study is at the center.
The student can choose an eleven-month training period that prepares for the profession or select its parts that prepare for a part of the basic degree in hair and beauty care (cosmetologist).
The training takes place in a combination of day and evening training.
