Introduction
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA/Dr.) is the highest academic degree in Anglo-Saxon university management education. The Doctor of Business Administration was originally developed at Harvard University in the US and is now recognized beyond the borders of the US and Great Britain. It is considered the practice-oriented counterpart to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
In many sectors, excellent career opportunities open up with a completed doctoral degree. A DBA/Dr. degree creates ideal conditions for scientifically researching strategic issues from corporate practice. Many students focus on problems from their own company, which are dealt with and solved in a practical way. In this way, they make a significant contribution to the future success of the company. The company often rewards these efforts with promotions or the transfer of new areas of responsibility. Last but not least, the social reputation also increases with the doctorate.
Choice with or without mentoring package (DBA+)
In the doctoral program, doctoral students are supervised by advisors (doctoral supervisor/doctoral supervisor) and the KMU Akademie is on hand to provide organizational support for all matters. Knowledge and skills in the areas of scientific work and research are required. If you see a need to catch up in these areas, you can decide for yourself whether you want to complete the doctoral program with an additional mentoring package (DBA+) offered by the KMU Akademie or not. This mentoring package includes in-depth support and additional training on all aspects of scientific work and research. The curriculum and requirements in the doctoral program are unaffected by the mentoring package. Further information on the doctoral program with or without a mentoring package can be found below.

In-depth care and support
During the doctorate it is necessary to expand your knowledge of scientific work from master's level (level 7) to doctoral level (level 8). In the doctorate, you will complete a module on scientific work and research, which will provide you with good support in making the leap from a master's to a doctorate. For this it is necessary that you have the knowledge of scientific work at Master's level.
For some doctoral students it is unclear what is required because they come from different disciplines or have different research experiences. Maybe scientific work was done a little ago or was only partially dealt with in your previous studies. In order to provide you with the best possible support, KMU Akademie & Management AG also offers a mentoring package (DBA+) to accompany doctoral studies in cooperation with Middlesex University.
For whom can the mentoring package be helpful?
Any person who:
- Have a need for support within the framework of the requirements for scientific work.
- have hitherto taken a practically oriented path.
- have done little scientific work up to now.
- Have attended seminars on scientific work a long time ago.
- have only learned and applied one scientific method as part of their master's thesis.
- had little contact with scientific work at their university.
- do not immediately know the difference between qualitative and quantitative research.
The final decision whether you want to claim a mentoring package or not is of course yours. There is also the possibility of a subsequent booking, subject to availability of the offer.
