Scholarships
At KLU, we’re committed to helping you achieve your academic goals with a range of scholarships:
- We offer a limited number of merit-based and need-based scholarships.
- Sports scholarships are available for athletes on German national teams.
- Students with grants from gifted education institutions (Begabtenförderwerke) can apply for a full tuition fee waiver.
- We proudly offer support to students from refugee communities in Hamburg.

Corporate Sponsorship
Secure your student financing and the next step in your career. Convince a KLU partner company to sponsor you as a young talent. KLU partner companies cover up to full tuition for selected students of their choice in this Master's program including close cooperation through e.g. study projects, an internship, and the Master’s Thesis.
The application process for these corporate sponsorships is integrated with the KLU admission process. Only students who have been admitted to the program will be eligible to apply for this financial support. While KLU facilitates the connection and support during the matching process, the final selection and ultimate decision about individual funding is made by our partner companies. So, please note that your application for corporate sponsorship does not constitute an entitlement to it but is only a necessary precondition for your participation in the later selection process.
Successful applicants may have the opportunity to:
- Develop an Entrepreneurial Project (2nd &3rd semester) and a Capstone project (3rd semester) with their relevant partner company (mandatory)
- Complete their internship with the partner company (mandatory).
- Develop their Master Thesis project on a topic relevant to the sponsor (mandatory).
- Engage in working student positions alongside their studies (optional).
- Commit to a dedicated period of employment with the partner company post-graduation (optional).
This collaboration provides a unique opportunity to enhance your educational experience and professional trajectory. We encourage prospective students to explore this funding option (up to 100% of tuition) and consider how they align with their career goals. Detailed application instructions will be provided to successful candidates upon admission to the program. Important dates
We will present candidate profiles to sponsoring companies in two rounds, on March 31st and May 31st. To be included in either round, applicants must submit their program applications for our MSc in Business Analytics and Data Science program by the respective deadlines:
- To participate in the first round, submit your application by February 15th.
- To participate in the second round, submit your application by April 15th.

Brain Capital Financing
Brain Capital offers an innovative tuition financing model that allows you to either partially or fully defer your tuition fees while studying at KLU. Instead of paying upfront, you’ll make income-based payments after graduation, with the total amount based on your earnings. The solidarity principle means that higher earners repay more, while those with lower incomes contribute less. Rest assured, there are caps on both annual and total payments (approximately double the tuition fee, adjusted for inflation).

Financing Plans
Several loan schemes are available to cover living expenses, primarily for German and EU nationals. Students from other countries may be eligible if they have a German Abitur and permanent residence status in Germany.
