Introduction
After the introductory basic modules (advanced German basic knowledge and specialist knowledge), three specializations are offered, from which the students can choose one freely.
The specialization Language Teaching in Economics and Business prepares students for an internship in a German company by practicing written and oral forms of professional business communication and situations in this professional field.
In the cultural mediator specialization, students get to know forms, linguistic means, scenes and actors of contemporary culture, especially in the Hungarian-German context in connection with concrete cultural events. The internship in cultural institutions is prepared not only by knowledge of cultural history and cultural sociology, but also by theoretical and practical aspects of communication, cultural and media studies, as well as intermediality, interdisciplinary and interculturality.
The specialization Organization and Culture of the German Minorities deals with the relationship between language and society, as well as with the varieties of the German language, applied linguistics, current issues of language policy, the language use of minorities and multilingualism. An introduction to the history, culture and organizations of Germans in Hungary prepares the students for their internship at a national minority organization.
The specialization International Lexicography enables entry into the interdisciplinary and bilingual master's program European Master of Lexicography (EMLex) with specific training features. The prerequisite for the application is an intermediate level of English (at least B1). During the course, an Erasmus stay abroad at a university of the EMLex consortium in the second semester and an internship in the third semester are mandatory. If successful
Upon completion of the specialization, graduates receive an additional EMLex certificate (possibly a double degree ) at the end of their studies. For more information on the specifics of the international specialization, see: European Master in Lexicography .
