About: Study to become an age-friendliness developer. This master's programme at Karelia UAS trains professionals to influence community development amid population aging. The YAMK training covers aging, age-friendly society and WHO active ageing principles, plus service reform and management. You'll gain skills for multi-professional roles supporting wellbeing and inclusion of older people and entrepreneurship. The programme is online, co-created with local health workers, and can be completed while working.

Population aging is a multidimensional phenomenon that affects the entire society. The YAMK training in development of aging skills and management gives you extensive knowledge about aging as well as the skills to reform and manage services. The education is based on striving for an age-friendly society (Age Friendly Society) and active aging as defined by the WHO.
In Karelia's YAMK training for the development and management of age skills, you will strengthen your readiness to work in multi-professional tasks that support the well-being, health, functional capacity and inclusion of older people, as well as in demanding development and management tasks. You also have the skills for entrepreneurship. In addition, you have a vision and the ability to influence the development of age-friendly communities, regions and society.
The studies are structured in cooperation with social and health workers in your area, and it is possible to complete the studies alongside work. The education is implemented as online studies.
