Key Summary
About: Kansai University's Welfare and Health programme links the motto GAKU-NO-JITSUGE (harmony between academia and society) to study. It reconsiders social welfare, community health and living environments for people who live on their own. It does not treat children and older adults as vulnerable; it treats community as an active subject creating a welfare culture through practice, policy and interdisciplinary study.
Career Outcomes: Graduates may work as social workers, community health workers, policy analysts, care coordinators, nonprofit programme managers, elder care managers, child welfare specialists, community development practitioners or pursue research and teaching roles in social services and public health.
We will reconsider the way and practice of social welfare so far in relation to the living environment and health of human beings who live independently, and instead of simply seeing children and the elderly as "vulnerable people in need of assistance", "community" We will study various issues such as building a welfare culture in the local community, considering it as a "living subject who creates a community".
