Introduction

The Skilled Farmer, "Global Organic Farmer," education takes 30-47 months (depending on the student age and educational background). It gives students from Denmark and other EU countries an opportunity to learn about organic farming at a high professional level. This education offers you to work with agriculture and organic food production from an international and global perspective.

Admission requirements for the Skilled Farmer, "Global Organic Farmer," is a high school diploma or equivalent. The teaching language of education is English, and therefore, students must be able to speak and write English on a fundamental level.

The Skilled Farmer'sFarmer's primary objective, "Global Organic Farmer" education, is to become an organic farmer who has the high skilled practical experience and thorough professional knowledge about organic farming, sustainability, and internationalization.

This should enable you to adapt to the different changes happening in the agricultural profession around the world. Students learn about profitable, sustainable food production, the niche production economy, from producer to consumer, and from farm to table concepts.

The program consists of a 10-20-week introductory course at the agricultural college, followed by the first internship of 6-12 months.

After the first internship period, the students return to college and attend the first main course for up to 16 weeks. When they have passed the exams, their second training period (6-12 months) extends their practical skills even further and specializes in a production branch such as plants or livestock. The education ends with a second main course (up to 20 weeks) back at college and a final exam.

The courses are a combination of classroom teaching, independent study, and project-related work. Additionally, there is a hands-on practical education at the college's farm, workshop, machine facilities, and out on the field.
