Introduction

We are anchored in two schools: The Whiting School of Engineering and the Bloomberg School of Public Health, and our students benefit from close interdisciplinary partnerships with the School of Medicine, Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, and the Carey Business School. We focus on solving critical problems at the nexus of public health and engineering through research in the areas of air pollution and cardio-respiratory diseases, energy management and alternative technologies, environmental chemistry, environmental resource quality, food systems, and more. We offer full-time and part-time degree programs.

About the Program

The Department’s cross-divisional affiliation enables us to offer a range of interdisciplinary graduate programs at the intersection of public health and engineering. Our objective is to develop solutions to key challenges in local, national, and global environmental health, with impacts from the molecular to population-wide level. Our graduates are prepared for careers in academia, government, national laboratories, and the private sector.
