Students will engage in hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for the complexities of modern technical and scientific challenges. This program combines coursework in engineering, biology, and computer science, fostering skills needed in diverse fields.
Career Outcomes : Graduates possess skills to pursue careers in engineering, biotechnology, information technology, and environmental management. Possible roles include research scientist, technical consultant, and project manager, offering a range of opportunities in technology-driven industries.

Integrated Science and Technology prepares students for a variety of high-demand careers in growing fields.

ISAT is significantly broader than learning about just one science or technology area. With ISAT, you'll get a foundation in all of the basic sciences and a set of technology, computer, and problem-solving skills. You'll then apply that basic scientific knowledge and those technical skills to some of society's biggest problems. In ISAT, you’ll have the flexibility to explore and concentrate in one or more of the following growing fields.

  • Energy
  • Applied Biotechnology
  • Environment and Sustainability
  • Industrial and Manufacturing Systems
  • Applied Computing
  • Social Contexts in Science and Technology

Most ISAT graduates find high-paying, fulfilling careers in these growing fields, while others continue to graduate school or even start their own businesses. The ISAT model of broad scientific knowledge, technical skill, and applied problem-solving prepares ISAT graduates for whatever is next.

Integrated science and technology (ISAT) students learn about a broad range of scientific, technological, and social concepts and master concrete skills that will make them leaders in solving the real human problems that confront our world. Students start with a common foundations curriculum and then progress into more specialized technical areas of their choice during their junior and senior years. Studies in ISAT combine multiple scientific areas into one hands-on, integrated program in which students learn by working directly with technology and applying it to solve real-world problems.

ISAT graduates are successful in a broad range of professions and graduate schools. The program is both technical and flexible allowing students to customize a course sequence in preparation for a diverse array of technology-related careers.
