What Students Will Learn
Through a series of interactive workshops, practical tasks and case studies students will learn about some of the most valued businesses in the world and understand what makes them work so well.
This course goes beyond the traditional idea of business, inspiring students to think creatively and with purpose. We explore how businesses can make a positive impact on society through social enterprise, values-led leadership, and responsible entrepreneurship.
Students will learn the essentials of business planning, and explore the importance of company culture, branding, and customer service, as well as key concepts in marketing and market research.
Innovation is at the heart of this programme, with sessions on idea generation, original thinking, and methods to encourage fresh approaches to business.
From the start, students will work in small groups to develop their own business idea, which they will refine throughout the three weeks. They will practise pitching, build confidence in public speaking, and ultimately present their idea as a team in an exciting “Dragons’ Den (or Shark Tank)” event, where they will pitch to a panel of “ISSOS Dragons/Sharks” in front of the whole summer school campus.
This class is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs and anyone who is curious about how business works.
*Before arrival, any students with English as a second language will be asked to complete a British Council English Language Test. We do this to make sure that everyone is in a suitable class and will get the most out of their time at ISSOS.
