Introduction

This major is designed to provide you with a basic knowledge of how languages work, through studying language structure, language systems and literary texts. It also includes basic language teaching methodologies. For those planning a career in teaching, it is an excellent preparation for teaching any language to non-native speakers. Many Language Studies students opt to enrol in the LTCL Trinity College London Certificate of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) offered at IPU New Zealand, as part of their course.
