Introduction
Program Description
IPB is running a well established 1-year long Portuguese Language and Culture course (PLC) for international students. The course is designed for students enrolled in foreign Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to complement their education in the Portuguese language and also for other students and the general public interested in learning the Portuguese language. Some of the course units are offered together with the Portuguese students, allowing a better integration and a real Portuguese cultural and language environment. At the end of this 1-year-long course, students will receive a certificate according to his/her Portuguese language proficiency.

The profile of the programme comprises the development of the technical-scientific knowledge and professional skills in the study areas of Portuguese and Social Sciences. Portuguese, Social Sciences, Others (optional)
Key learning outcomes
To complete this programme which does not award a degree, students must pass all compulsory training units of the study plan and demonstrate, in this field, the ability to:
- develop attitudes and behaviours that are appropriate for professionals with high levels of professional qualification and adaptability to the labour and corporate markets;
- understand practical activities and solve problems within the scope of professional practice;
- apply knowledge and understanding to the practical activities of the respective professional profile.

Qualification requirements and regulations
60 ECTS credits. 2 Semesters (1 year). 20 Weeks of study, per semester, full-time (40 per year). 40 total Hours per week. 810 total Hours per semester (1620 per year). 1 credit corresponds to 27 hours. (variable number of Contact (teaching) Hours, depending on the established Schedule for each Course Unit).
