About: The Diploma in Electrical Technology at the International College of Yayasan Melaka (ICYM) teaches theoretical and laboratory skills in designing, analyzing and planning electrical systems. You learn to use electrical testing equipment, manage electrical safety and hazards, operate electrical machines, and work with power distribution systems. The programme also exposes you to pneumatics and electro‑pneumatics. ICYM opened in 1997 and was officially launched by the Minister of Education.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue roles such as electrical technician, maintenance technician, electrician, power system technician, field service engineer, and automation/controls technician–working in installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and power distribution roles.
Diploma in Electrical Technology programmed is designed to teach students with theoretical and laboratory work that focuses on designing, analysing, and planning on the electrical system, learning how to use electrical testing equipment, electrical safety and hazard, electrical machine operation, and electrical power distribution system. Furthermore, the student is also being exposed to pneumatics/ electro pneumatics during their studies.
